Massage Warehouse Works Out the Kinks with QuickAddress

“By auto-filling address fields right from USPS data files, QuickAddress speeds up order entries – what would have taken me 30 seconds to input is now done in 10. 50 typed characters is reduced to 15. That was a benefit we weren’t even expecting to be significant, but it made a huge difference,” said Ryan Wheeler, Technology Director at Massage Warehouse, a mail-order supplier of massage equipment, oils, and lotions to 225,000 customers.

The increased entry speed led to an increase in revenues. “Some of our top sales people saw a huge jump in orders taken over the phone – up 10 to 20% in just the first week,” he added. “If a sales person takes 60 calls per day, and is able to finish taking orders 20% faster, that means he can take up to 20% more calls. The potential gain from 12 more calls per day is enormous.”

Spotlight on: Technical Support

Trip Dixon, Technical Consultant for QAS, recently sat down with Addressing Business to talk about our support program.

AB: Can you describe the QAS philosophy, when it comes to technical support?
TD: We start with a commitment to developing products that are easy to use and install. Because we integrate so seamlessly with databases and enterprise software, we minimize the need for user training.

TD: We also know that, no matter how easy it is to install the software, customers may have questions. That’s why we maintain a Support staff who have, on average, more than three years of experience with QuickAddress products. Our Support team can handle most any installation or troubleshooting scenario.

AB: How long does it typically take to install and integrate QuickAddress Pro, and what factors affect the process?
TD: QuickAddress Pro comes as either a stand-alone product or as an application programming interface (API). The stand-alone product can typically be installed and configured within one hour. The API version requires the customer to integrate the product, so a bit more time is needed. Customers can generally integrate our API version in 1-4 days, sometimes in less than half a day.

AB: What databases does Pro work with?
TD: Theoretically, QuickAddress Pro will work with any database. Due to the fact that Pro simply “pastes” an address into the front-end User Interface of a database, the underlying database is not a constraint. Pro does this by sending each character of the verified address through the computer’s keyboard buffer, thus mimicking a user typing in the address. If you can type an address into the database, Pro can as well.

AB: Is support included when you buy a QAS software product?
TD: Yes, the cost of support is included in the license fee. Our primary support hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 8:00pm EST with additional coverage provided by our UK and Australian offices if needed. During primary support hours, calls to our Support line are greeted by a live QAS Support Representative.
