QuickAddress Helps Lobsters Find Their Way Home

Last fall, Lobster Gram, the #1 live lobster company in America, installed QuickAddress Pro in its call center and QuickAddress Pro Web on the company website, to ensure that lobsters (and steaks and assorted clambake packages) arrive at customer doors quickly.

“Our product is highly perishable,” said company founder and senior lobster consultant Dan 'The Lobster Man' Zawacki. “You need to enjoy it the day you get it. Whether we take an order via call center or over our site, if someone gives us an incorrect address, we are going to have to replace the product.”

Zawacki estimates that, until last year, around 2% of addresses in the company’s AS/400 platform database were invalid. At an average order value of $150, address errors were a costly problem, especially during the Christmas rush, when delays become critical.

“Christmas is our busiest time, and also when customer addresses are likely to be entered incorrectly,” he added. “Gift-givers don’t always know recipients’ addresses, so they either guess or leave information out. Even a typo can cause product loss.”

Residential or Commercial Delivery? The New ATI from QAS Can Tell You
